An effective bespoke logo is pivotal to creating an enduring luxury brand. Unrivalled in its ability to communicate, it encapsulates the brand values in a microcosm, unifying all touchpoints. An outstanding logo promotes brand engagement with immediacy and finesse, on everything from product to advertising, digital media, packaging and print. The still point from which the brand’s visual universe radiates, the logo is constant and sacrosanct forever, enabling content to evolve and brand recognition to stay.

Logo design is the most rigorous and demanding phase of the brand design process, where every aspect of the brand mark is meticulously considered. We begin with a blank page, an open mind and a deep dive into the world your logo will inhabit to discover treasures within — no surprise that our clients often refer to their logos as precious jewels. We evolve the work from stereotype to stunning by continually refining and distilling until the mark feels satisfying and complete. When an icon is accompanied by typography, that must also embody brand values.

The process is implicitly subjective, requiring the meticulous placement of letterforms, with striking variations according to their position in the brand name. The Chanel logotype, often cited as an illustration of beautiful sans serif typography, is almost exclusively successful due to the initial letter “C” leading the eye along the contrasting angular letterforms. Almost any other word in a similar style don’t do the trick.

At Oro&Co we investigate hundreds or thousands of fonts and hand draw letters to find the forms that feel eternal. Looking for clues and subtle pairings, we uncover the gold that is always inherent.
